Khmer Famous singer, Sin Sisamuth!

M.r Sin Sisamuth is a Khmer famous singer in the years around 1960s and 1970s. In that and until now he is called “The King of Khmer sound”. He is not only famous in Cambodia but also spread his famous to many countries, especially to the nearly countries of Cambodia. In that time Samuth was a good partner with other famous signers such as Rous Sereysothea, Pen Rorn and many more witch most of them include Sin Sisamuth were killed in the Pol Pot regime (1975-79). He is not only a signer whose songs are countless with the beautiful sound, but he is also a talent lyric writer also.  

Sin  Sisamuth was born in 1933 in Stung Treng province. When he was in the primary school he showed everyone about his interest in guitar and then he was always asked to played guitar in all the school celebration. He was also a young boy who is interested in Buddhism, soccer and he liked flying kites and reading.

He finished his high school in 1951 and went to phnom penh to continued his study in the college with the field in medicine because his family really want him to become a doctor. But during his study in the university he always try to learn to sing and compose music and also create a musical group with other 8 other people called “ Preah Chan Reasmey (Moon Light)”.

In a short of times, Preah Chan Reasmey Group became so famous and also received an invitation from the national radio channel called “Reachsey (Lion)” to sing. And then Mr. Samuth was really famous in Phnom Penh but he was still not a professional singer but his family didn’t really like his ways being artiste. But nothing can change his passion from singing.

After his graduation, He became a doctor of Keto Mealea hospital and then he quitted his career and became a singer that came from his passion.  During his life he has wrote and sang for more than 1000 songs which gained much fame and popularity for his life. In this modern age, his songs are reproduced with his original sound and some other songs are sung by modern artistes.
