Kun Khmer or Khmer Kickboxing

Have you ever heard Kun Khmer before? Yes it does mean another word that is generally called instead of calling Khmer traditional boxing or Khmer kick boxing. It is the most popular sport in Cambodia. Some people don’t call it Kun Khmer they call Bradal Serey. Brdal is a Khmer word that means boxing, and also Serey is another Khmer word means freely. So Brdal Serey can mean Kick Boxing because you can use both arm and leg to fight.
Now there are many TV channel in Cambodia that held Kun Khmer program every weekend that’s why now the number of Khmer boxers is increase hugely. And many people go to watch the match directly while other people watch them from their home or gather to watch with other liked-mind people at the café.
So do you ever heard about Mouy Thai that is generaly means Thai traditional kickboxing. Most of Cambodian people and also include me believe that Mouy Thai is just another new given name that is originally come from Kun Khmer. But however since now (Mid 20010) there is still no official information about this.
